Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vahram Kazhoyan, had a meeting with the Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Duong Trung Y, on April 22, 2021.

During the meeting the sides discussed the issues referring to the further development and deepening of bilateral relations in the spheres of politics, trade, economy, education, science, culture and tourism.

Ambassador Kazhoyan made a brief presentation on the role of Armenians in Vietnam from the Middle Ages to the present days. He also touched upon the issues of the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 and the 44 days' Artsakh war of 2020, as well as the humanitarian crisis that has resulted from the war, specifically addressing the issue of the prisoners of war and the deliberate destruction by Azerbaijani authorities of Armenian cultural heritage in the occupied territories.

The Heads and Deputy Heads of different Departments of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics were present at the meeting. Armenian Ambassador was accompnied by Aramazd Muradyan, Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Vietnam.
